It is our pleasure to present the winter 2010 session of the Norwood PTO Enrichment Program. We have added new and different clubs this session while attempting to keep class sizes small, so the children can benefit from individualized attention. We welcome ideas for new classes, and are already planning for the next session. The program starts on Tuesday February 2, 2010 . Classes meet from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm unless otherwise indicated. Please check the class descriptions for exact meeting dates. Questions? E-mail Stacy Klein at stacy@kleinlegalresearch.com or Karen Simon at karen103@optonline.net.
ADMISSIONS & ENROLLMENT
Classes are open to all public and private school children in the area. Children must be in the indicated grade level to be admitted to a class, unless approved by the instructor. Norwood Public School students receive priority during registration night. Class size is limited and classes are filled on a first-come, first served basis. Classes are subject to cancellation or combination due to insufficient enrollment. Classroom assignments will be provided before the first day of class. Students are expected to maintain behavioral standards consistent with school policy or will be removed from the program with no refund.
REGISTRATION
Registration will take place on Tuesday January 19th at 6:00 pm in the Library of Norwood Public School. Payment must be paid by check, payable to the Norwood PTO. No refunds will be made. Please note that during registration night, spots will be filled on a first come basis for Norwood Public School students only and you must register in person for your own children. Any spots that remain open at the end of the registration night will be open to all area children on a first come basis by MAIL-IN registration. Please submit any MAIL-IN registration forms to the PTO box at the front office of the school. Parents will be notified of class admission, and payment by check will be required prior to the start of the session.
ENROLLMENT CONFIRMATIONS
In keeping with the PTO’s efforts to “go green,” paper confirmations of class enrollment will not be distributed. Parents can verify that their children are enrolled in after school clubs by logging into their account on the PTO website, www.norwoodpto.com. Complete class lists will be posted on or about January 31st. .
WAITLIST
Every attempt is made to include students closed out of classes during the registration night. If you are interested in a closed class, please ask that your name be put on the waitlist. Additional spots in existing classes and/or new sections may be opened, subject to instructor approval. Waitlisted students will be notified by telephone if spots open, and must submit the required form and check to the Norwood PTO.
INCLEMENT WEATHER AND CLASS CANCELLATIONS
Classes are automatically cancelled if school is either suspended or closed that day. Weekday classes may also be cancelled, at the instructor's discretion, due to inclement weather or a personal emergency. Every attempt will be made to announce these ahead of time. Any last minute cancellations will be announced during school and an attempt will be made to reach the parent at the emergency contact phone number listed on the enrollment form. It is the parent's responsibility to check for messages regarding cancellations that may be left at this phone number. Instructors will make every attempt to provide a substitute or make up all cancelled classes. The instructor will notify you of make-up times.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Please note the starting and ending times of your child's class. The classrooms are not available before the specified times and there is no supervision before or after class. Please have your child picked up promptly, at the front door of the school, when class ends. Children will not be permitted to walk to the public library unattended. Any child picked up late more than once per session will be removed from the program with no refund.
